Little Flower School at Kalwari, Basti, is a Christian missionary institution under the management of Little Flower Province
U.P Nepal of the Little Flower Congregation (CST Fathers); who run several reputed institutions in various states of India.
The School visualizes and imparts a holistic and integral education to its students so that they may shine on earth as a
cute and innocent little flower. Education at Little Flower enables them to grow competitive and successful. Here the
students are encouraged to be enduring, creative, reflective and motivated towards attaining the desired goals.
Our Heavenly Patroness
St. Therese of Lisieux, also known as Little Flower is the heavenly patroness of the school. She was a Carmelite nun born on
02/01/1873 at Lesbisonex (France) and flourished in holiness and charity in the Carmelite convent at Lisieux. She challenged
the world inviting to live a life of simplicity in its maximum and thereby to attain holiness.
She had a very short life span of 24 years. She inspires us to conquer the world with love and simplicity.
Very Rev. Fr. Basilius Panat CST the founder father of Little Flower Congregation was born on 15th February 1891
His parents were Mathai and Eleswa. In1907 Thomas completed his studies at the middle school. After his high school studies
at St. Albert's High School, Ernakulam and at St. Mary's High School, Aluva he completed his seminary studies at Puthenpally
from 1913 to 1918 and 26 December 1918 he was ordained a Priest. He started the Congregation out of his God-experience in
Christ enhanced by his very personal devotion to St. Therese of Child Jesus. Simplicity and childlike surrender of the
Little Flower to the will of God the Father had struck deep roots in his heart and dedicated himself for the development
of the villages at Mookannur where he was appointed. He was an inspiration not only to the young and the children but
also to the people of all ages.
The following words of Jesus inspired Fr. Basilius “Go and Do likewise” (Luke 10:37)
‘Motto’ of the School
The school imparts not only academic education but makes every child committed to the service of God and of the nation, hence the motto of the school ‘For God and Man’. Students are taught to abide by moral principles, imbued with the sense of the divine and unselfish in their service to the mother land ant the fellow men.

Our Mission:
To accompany children in their journey from childhood to adulthood and facilitate integrate development of body, mind, heart and soul, so that they are physically fit, intellectually sound and creative, socially sensitive and responsible, spiritually enlightened and environment-friendly. In other words our mission is the holistic development of the children through academic excellence, intellectual, moral and spiritual growth to mould them as responsible citizen as to equip for the service of the society.
